The generous donation of $5,000 from Kelly and Sandy Creasy launched the Dunmore Equestrian Society (DES) Legacy Fund in February this year. Their gift is an investment in the future success of agriculture / equestrian sport in Cypress County and southeastern Alberta.
“Sandy and I are proud to be the first contributors to the Legacy Fund,” President, Kelly Creasy said. “We encourage the community to support the Dunmore Equestrian facility with ongoing funding. It is our dream that the fund will keep the facility operating, improving, and providing community programs and services forever.”
To ensure Dunmore Equestrian’s financial sustainability, the Board of Directors recognized the importance of establishing a Legacy Fund with the Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta (CFSEA). The DES Legacy Fund principal will never be spent, grow over time, with interest providing a source of lasting support for Dunmore Equestrian.
“Our donor’s initial gifts are never spent,” Regional Development Coordinator, Helene Nicholson said.
“Thank you to Kelly and Sandy for being the first donors to the DES Legacy Fund. We look forward to growing your fund together with you and the Dunmore Equestrian team.” A strong endowment will ensure that Horsepower can continue to support the Dunmore Equestrian Centre and our western equine industry for many years to come.
